- Leafy vegetables like spinach, lettuces, turnip greens and dried beans, peas, fortified cereal products, sunflower seeds and select fruits and vegetables are a rich source of folic acid. Folic acid is important for proper cell division, proper hair growth and healthy cellular activity.
