Some of the common causes of hair loss in men are:

  • Heredity:  It is the most common cause of hair loss in men. One can’t help in this case. If in your family, most of the men lost their hair at early age, it is pretty sure that you will loss too. The reason behind this is that male hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) affects the hair follicles by shrinking them down in such a way that the hair follicles become so small and they are not able to grow hair anymore. This is not the case for everyone and here comes the genetic factor. There are some people who have certain cells that are sensitive to DHT and this sensitivity is an inherited trait that can come from father’s side or mother’s.
  • Illness: This is also a cause of hair loss in men. Both the illness and medical treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy lead to hair fall to a great extent.
  • Alopecia areata: It is an immune disease, which cause hair loss in men. The hair loss may be small patches on the scalp or entire scalp or even overall hair loss from the body.

Hair loss is quite stressful for both men and women and this can even affect their confidence level. Only proper care and great attention can minimize the percentage of hair loss. And also it is advisable to consult a doctor if the hair fall persists.
